As the Program Director for Digital Library of the Caribbean since 2008, Brooke Wooldridge has worked with libraries and archives all over the wider Caribbean to promote digital preservation. When the 2010 Earthquake struck in Haiti, Brooke worked with Florida International University to create the Protecting Haitian Patrimony Initiative, which provides money, supplies, and technical assistance to Haiti’s libraries and archives to help them recover. As Associate Editor of An Island Luminous, Brooke seeks not only to preserve and improve physical access to Haiti’s history, but also to provide users with a context in which to understand and appreciate that history.
